Walk the Woods, Learn About Exemplary Forestry!

Join New England Forestry Foundation (NEFF) for a scenic and immersive woods walk through the soon-to-be harvested Weeks Memorial Forest in Guilford, Vermont, where you’ll learn about sustainable, climate-smart forestry! This approximately 1.5-hour guided hike will offer an in-depth look at Exemplary Forestry practices, with a focus on controlling invasive species and improving biodiversity. Ask questions, explore the landscape, and discover how NEFF is shaping the future of New England’s forests. This event will take place rain or shine. Please register if you plan to attend.

What to Expect:

• Moderate Hike: 1 to 1.5 miles through varying terrain, including well-worn trails, exposed roots, branches, and rocks
• Sustained Grades: The hike will include prolonged inclines of up to 10 percent
• Expert Guidance: A licensed forester will explain sustainable, climate-smart harvesting techniques and answer questions
