River Stewardship

The District worked with our water quality partners in Southern Vermont to create this page of resources to help land managers make decisions about taking care of rivers and adjacent habitats. Thank you to the Vermont Community Foundation and the Windham Regional Commission for funding and administrative support on this project.

 

Dartmouth Collaboration:

We collaborated with a team of students at Dartmouth to connect with residents of the Rock River on flooding resiliency. After a community meeting was held, the following graphics were created to connect residents with the resources that they need prior to inclement weather events.

The conservation district is a founding member of the alliance the Green River Watershed Alliance (GRWA). GRWA is a community-led voice for the stewardship and protection of the River and its surrounding landscape. GRWA unites the towns within the watershed to proactively reduce the impacts of flooding, support healthy ecosystems, and increase the overall awareness and appreciation of the River and its watershed.
